Prayer. Fasting.
Almsgiving.
As we prepare for the coming of Our Lord, let's not forget the least among us. On this Giving Tuesday, please consider AWC's clients with the highest need.
Please consider becoming a monthly supporter! We cannot do this work without you, and the need is great - read on!
GIVING TUESDAY
The St. Dymphna Fund
What This Fund Is
A dedicated, set-aside fund for AWC
Provides compensation to AWC-affiliated therapists at a discounted rate
For clients coming to AWC seeking care with Orthodox therapists that would be unable to access care in any other way
Who This Fund Benefits
12% of clients seeking therapy through AWC
Uninsured (e.g. no insurance at all, or have crowdfunded care)
Underinsured (e.g. Medicaid/ Medicare, very few providers in their area who take their insurance)
Can afford less than $20/ session
Why This Fund Matters
Everyone knows someone whose life has been touched - devastated - by mental health conditions, addiction, etc.
You worship next to them in church every week. You kids go to school with them. You may be affected. Mental health does not discriminate.
We are better when we're in communion, and we need each other. When someone doesn't have resources to access faith-conscious mental health care, but who you see for therapy matters, it becomes difficult.
AWC has helped people access Orthodox care dealing with issues like religious- and spiritually-related OCD and delusions, the conversion process, and more - topics that could be potentially harmful to treat from a non-Christian approach.
Why Give Now
93% of the clients eligible for funds from St. Dymphna are currently being referred outside of the AWC network due to necessity.
The 7% of the ones being seen are taken on either pro-bono or on a very reduced sliding-scale basis out of the goodness of our therapists' hearts - thank you!!
The St. Dymphna Fund is currently depleted.
AWC exists for this purpose and to bridge this gap, but we cannot do this work without financial support.
Our Goal
Raise $2025 by the end of the year for the St. Dymphna Fund
This supplements approx. 40 sessions
Encourage you to become a monthly donor
Our Giving Tuesday and End-of-2025 Giving Campaign aims to restore just a portion of these funds. Please consider joining in the mission of showing agape and supporting the mental health of people you worship with every week by fasting from just one lunch out each month and becoming a recurring donor.
THANK YOU for your support of the "least of these".
Agape Wellness Collective exists to help people connect with and afford mental health services with Orthodox Christian providers nationwide. We believe that who you choose to see for therapy matters, that your faith and values make you who you are, and that they inform how you understand yourself and the world. You can rest assured that AWC-Affiliated Therapists not only understand your faith - they live it.
