What Is Root & Table?

Root & Table is a place to be Grounded in Christ and Gathered in Communion.

Root & Table is an online support space for small groups of people to have meaningful, real, and authentic conversations that you wouldn't ordinarily have outside of an intentional, set-aside space.

Each R&T group is facilitated by a trained, AWC-Affiliated, Orthodox Christian provider.

Who Should Consider Attending?

These groups are an excellent option for people who...

• Want more connection with other Orthodox Christians

• Are new to therapy

• Are concerned about the potential of stigma

• Want additional support

• May not need individual therapy

• Cannot afford the cost of traditional, individual therapy

• Do not have health insurance or have a high deductible

How Much Do Groups Cost?

The suggested donation for each 6-week Group is $300/ participant for all 6 meetings (that is, $50/ meeting). Payments should be made up-front or via a recurring donation using the website.
Sliding scale options and payment plans are considered in cases of true financial hardship.

Our College Circles are always offered free of charge.

What Are the Expectations of Group Members?

• Groups run in 6-week cohorts; please commit to attending all sessions of the group you sign up for

• You will be asked to participate in a brief screening/ get-to-know-you via Zoom with the facilitator prior to the start of the group

• Maintaining privacy/ confidentiality for the other members (what is said in group should stay in group!)

• Respect for yourself and other group members

• Respect for the facilitator(s)

• Openness to the group and any new ideas or information presented

• Openness to feedback

Root & Table Groups ARE NOT:

Psychotherapy groups to treat mental health conditions
A substitute for diagnosis or treatment
Bible studies, book clubs, chat/ hang-out groups
A substitute for spiritual direction
A place for debate or polemics

Root & Table Groups ARE:

Led by AWC-Affiliated mental health professionals
Places to provide education and tools around mental health
Places to get real support and talk about real issues
Points of authentic connection in faith with others
Going to challenge you to grow!
